River and Coastal Engineering Department

About the Department

The course offered by our department, River and Coastal Engineering Department, is designed to cover the basic knowledge and training required by those who are seeking to become engineers specialized in river and coastal fields. Fundamental subjects are based on civil engineering and as well as river and coastal engineering. During five years of study period, all students of river and coastal Engineering specialization require to complete the industrial training in Directorate of Water resources and Improvement of River system to attain field experience. This can be done depending on the arrangement of university during the vacation periods.

By reviewing course plans for all subjects, the instructor /lecturer can update the course to cope with the pace of technological knowledge.

Under being analyzed the syllabus by investigating the strength and weakness of the syllabus and by evaluating the course according to the feedback of students, the instructor/lecture can redesign a more appropriate syllabus yearly at achieving of the course. Based on the detailed syllabus and specific reference texts and teaching aids, instructor /lecturer can draw up weekly lesson plans including the time allocation for each chapter.

River and Coastal Engineering Department opens the doors of opportunities to all students who are enthusiastic in River and Coastal engineering technology. We hope to fulfill the deficiency of river basin management and coastal zone management by our qualified river & coastal engineering students. Welcome to River and Coastal Engineering Department!!

Aims and Objectives

  • To contribute the knowledge, understanding and experience in River and Coastal engineering field
  • To achieve the basic knowledge and training required by those who are seeking to become engineers specialized in river and coastal fields. Fundamental subjects are based on civil engineering and as well as river and coastal engineering

Quality Objectives

  • To achieve the 95% of passed result for all subjects within one academic year.
